"Spontaneity"

Like a lighting strike on a clear day, I really didn't see this painting coming. I had never worked this spontaneously before and yet, here it is and I love it! The model asked me if I could paint her, but she would need to be painted within hours, as she would soon leave New Orleans. I explained that it would not be possible and that most of my work requires days of planning and preparation. She understood, but then I started to have some seriously conflicting inner dialog. I was tired of saying “no” to potentially good models that would need me to paint them with a certain level of haste. New Orleans has many visitors from around the world and I often encounter queries from those interested in being used in my work. I quickly returned to the woman with a proposition that if she returned later that night, I would make "something" happen. "Spontaneity" is that something.
