Our daily lives are filled with thousands of individual pieces, many fitting together and creating an experience that ultimately becomes our unique reality. "Pieces" also speaks of the complex internal nature of us all. This concept was developed just twenty-four hours before this painting began. The model is a good friend who was visiting New Orleans and had a limited time frame for me to work in. This was also an all-nighter, as we finished the final photography just before sunup. The puzzle pieces on the ground between the model’s hands are all hand cut and hand painted.
