"Elements"

I was asked by the German Bodypainting artist, Britta Herold if I might be able to teach her some technique using airbrush. I responded with the proposal that we could paint one another in the same spirit that I had achieved once before, with "Brother and Sister." Britta accepted and flew over from London (London is her second home). Without any preconceptions, she arrived and we got to work. First we each photographed the other in poses that we felt had potential. I then started designing based on these photos. I found that the natural bend and separation of the limbs and torso created a beautiful four-segmented possibility. The four segments became four elements with fire interpreted as magma. I also included a tiny green leaf to symbolically represent life. Both images were designed, developed and created within the seven days of her visit.
