Sometimes when designing a Bodypainting I just say, “no”. I say no to all of the complicated, clever and complexly challenging thoughts that swim around inside of my head. Sometimes I just say “yes”.
Yes to beauty, pleasure and simplicity. "Dream" was just such an experience. This image challenged me only in that I needed to "let go" in order to make it happen. I chose to relax and enjoy the exceptional beauty of my model and the simplicity of color and the way I decided to add it to her body. I wanted shape, form and these deliciously exquisite colors to speak, when I chose to be silent. I consciously submitted to merely conduct this performance as opposed to perform it.
There is the contrast here that I love in much of my work, between the movement and vividness of the paint and the absolute blissful comfort of the model’s restful pose.
