What twists inside us all and allows the self to be? Inspired by both the image of an industrial piece of rusted metal and the exquisite curves of my model's body, “Coil” transcends conventional thoughts and visions. An organic fusion of both the real and unreal exist seamlessly in this vastly surreal image. This painting intrigued me far in advance of its completion. The sketch alone made me excited and pleased that it would soon become both a realization and a part of my life, forever.
