"Beefcake"

The reference images that I used for this project are ones I had saved for years. I’m attracted to this image’s playful contrasts and quite insane detail. “Beefcake” is an old American slang term, most often used by females to affectionately describe a well-built or muscular male. Due to the time restrictions involved with most bodypaintings, I recruited another artist, Walt, who helped in the two-person, five-hour inking of the scales.
